The American shipyard Grady-White Boats has existed since 1959 and during this time it has managed to become one of the recognized leaders in the market of compact vessels for fishing and leisure. Its founders Glenn Grady and Don White began with the construction of small wooden boats for coastal marine fishing in North Carolina. They were built on the concept of “beautiful, but durable” to withstand any vagaries of the marine climate. In 1968, the company passed into the hands of the Smith family, which still manages it. In 1969, Grady-White introduced its first fiberglass boats. In 2001, Boating magazine named the Express 330 the boat of the year, and in 2002 the shipyard received an award from the influential J. D. Power Award for “The highest degree of customer satisfaction in coastal fishing boat production.” The company has received this prestigious award 8 times. In 2003, the head of the company, Eddie Smith, was inducted into the NMMA (National Shipbuilding Association) Hall of Fame for his services to the industry.

From the start of the company’s operations, its facilities are based in Greenville, North Carolina. Their area and capabilities have grown continuously to meet the highest demand for Grady-White vessels. So, in 2018 the assembly shops and warehouses of the company increased by 21 thousand square meters, which further increased its production and logistics potential. As for the qualifications of staff and their loyalty, they are a priority from the very beginning. Many key shipyard employees have been working at her for 18 to 40 years.

Modern Grady-White are fiberglass boats with outboard motors designed for use in coastal waters in a wide range of weather conditions. One of the most popular Grady-White series is walkaround boats, which the shipyard pioneered 40 years ago. The series with the center console is the most numerous. Cabin cruise boats are represented by the Express Cabins series.

One of the “calling cards” of Grady-White boats is SeaV signature lines. Proven for decades, the V-shape of the bottom with an angle of 20 to 30 degrees provides a high degree of comfort and stability even in troubled water.

I just bought a GW Hatteras wooden boat. I did not receive any operational, maintenance, or owner's manual. I have searched high and low for any information on the workings and operation of the boat. The model is the Hatteras 17'...Vin# B2833T. If you can point me to or provide me any of this information I would appreciate it.
I have owned GW boats my whole life. I love them. My venture into the "wooden world" is a new one and sure to be the most fulfilling.

I would appreciate any information and guidance you can provide.
