The Ilmor MV8 6.0L petrol boat engine was approved by the Bodensee district office in accordance with exhaust gas standards and regulations of BSO II on May 19, 2011.
Ilmor Marine receives Lake Constance approval in accordance with the Shipping Ordinance (BSO II) as a result of a special development project.
In connection with a new engine calibration, the aluminum cylinder heads and regulated catalytic converters, the exhaust emissions are reduced and at the same time the performance of the Ilmor MV8 6.0L engine is largely preserved.
"The BSO II approval of the MV8 6.0L is a huge success," said Ronald A. Brown, President of Ilmor Marine. "It offers leisure captains in the Lake Constance region a powerful, yet ecologically sensitive engine package to enjoy the joys of water sports in one of the most beautiful, largest and most environmentally friendly areas in the world."
All Ilmor MV8 and current high-performance MV10 marine engines already meet the CE standard (EU-RCD) and the US EPA, California ARB regulations and standards.
The CE-certified Ilmor high performance MV10-725 engine is the most powerful petrol engine approved in the EU.
Ilmor has over 20 years of experience in motorsport, from Formula 1 to the American CART series to motorcycle races and successes in the P1 offshore boat racing series.

Ilmor MV8 and MV10 marine engines were developed under one roof with Formula 1 engines according to the strictest specifications and the latest technology and are ideal for applications in the maritime leisure and competition area.
The range of engines ranges from 235 KW to 533 KW (725 HP) and all engines use Ilmor`s own developments for excellent overall performance and maximum reliability.
