Azimut is an Italian shipyard, one of the leading places in the world of yacht construction for the creation of exclusive motor yachts. The company specializes in motor super and megayachts from 12 to 45 m long, providing 5 types: Azimut Flybridge (luxury with flybridge), S Collection (sports), Magellano (expeditionary), Grande Collection (more than 100 feet long) and Atlantis Collection (ultramodern).
The history of the path to success of Azimut Yachts began in 1969, and its creator is the enterprising Italian Paolo Vitelli. As a student, Paolo began organizing a yacht charter. But the love of the sea was not limited to this, but became only an important incentive for the further development of the business, the next direction of which was the distribution of branded yachts in Italy. Along with this, in 1970, customers of the company were invited to design custom-made new models of yachts.
Vitelli's first experimental experience was the mass production of motor boats with a fiberglass hull. The company was rapidly gaining popularity, continuing to create boats in two opposite directions: the smallest and the longest. It is with this contrast - the completely new successful model of a small yacht and the largest fiberglass yacht - that Azimut Yachts has found success against a background of no less diverse competitors. In 1985, the company acquired the historic Benetti shipyard in Viareggio, whose history began back in 1873, and expanded its specialization to the construction of superyachts.
The creator of Azimut and his colleagues managed to combine the centuries-old tradition of yacht building with the embodiment of modern innovative ideas. The effect of such a contrasting combination was not long in coming. Azimut shipyard has become one of the world leaders in the construction of various yachts, primarily megayachts.
A significant advantage of Azimut yachts is their high environmental friendliness, which is achieved using Core Infusion technology, which involves the use of rubbers and paints that are poorly soluble in water, which reduces the risk of water pollution. The development of modern engines and propellers with improved hydrodynamics can reduce noise and fuel consumption, which is especially important for long transitions, and the use of innovative materials and technologies helps to extend the life of ships.
